Friends of the Library

In 2014 the Friends of the Reardan Library became active again. A raffle was held for a coffee and tea basket on Mule Days. Requirements for entry to this raffle was simply visiting the library and getting acquainted with our services. We had over 140 people stop by and had a number of new patrons request a card. Janet Sexton was the winner of the basket.

The Friends helped with the Mule Days Float to advertize the Summer Reading Program.

In November and December the Friends held a raffle for a Kindle Paperwhite or Fire HD. The tickets were $5 each and $650 was raised for the raffle. Hester Rodgers was the winner of the raffle, and she chose to receive the Kindle Fire HD.The proceeds are going to update the technology of the Reardan Library.

In the summer of 2015 the library updated 2 computers. The new computers were needed as the old computers did not have the capacity to work with Windows 7. Because the printer was too old to work with the new computers, the Friends bought a new printer for the library. We now have a color printer.

The Friends budget also helps with keeping the children's section up-to-date.

If you would like to become a Friend of the Reardan Library, please ask the librarian for information.
